Lake Aloha
I made it up and over Dicks Pass (I'm pretty sure the person who was in charge of naming the lake that is the pass' namesake was a middle school boy) I passed a bunch of breathtaking lakes before I found a spot and camped along side Lake Aloha.
Day two of hiking solo was a success. In the morning I stopped to air out my gear after putting it away with a bit of dew on it and met a group of men doing a short section. They asked me where I was going to camp tonight and I mentioned Lake Aloha and they were like good luck with that... Ha they doubted me. I proceeded to tell them what I have been doing for the last couple months and they quickly bit their tongues. I told them what gear I was using and they took interest in my blog (which at the time was just about non existent). A short while later I passed them and left them in my dust. Right before Dicks Pass I passed a trail crew working to make the trail more sustainable and as I walked through I thanked each one of them.
I got to the spot I was looking to camp a little after dark and I found people already in their tents. One hiker was washing his dishes and I asked if he would mind if I joined them, not wanting to intrude on their space... after he gave me a nod I set up my tent and all but jumped into my sleeping bag. It had gotten quite cold the moment the sun went down.
