Guided by Love
Though I do not agree with people writing on rocks because it does not comply with the idea of leave no trace, I was happy to see this quote. Honesty, who in their right mind would hike from Mexico to Canada if they didn’t love everything that was involved in that endeavor? Love hiking. Love camping. Love pushing themselves. Love overcoming uncomfortable situations. Love being alone. Nor could I do this if I wasn’t loved and supported by those closest to me. Even my mom, though she explicitly expressed her concerns. Every chance she could. I know I’m supported. And I love everything about this adventure and even in the yucky situations I know I’m not being handed anything I am unable to handle. I think the only way to describe how I feel is blessed. My heart is so full I just can’t… No words.
Shout out to my super amazing hiking partner in crime, best friend and the most thoughtful human ever who has been making me and dehydrating my dinners for this trip. The first recipe that I tried was cowboy chili and it was . So good. I was looking forward to trying it all day and when I finally got to make dinner I was not disappointed.
I was able to convince K to hike one more mile after dinner and we were able to find a less windy spot and it is gorgeous.
I apologize in advance if my posts become more and more like picture books than actual words. Its hard to think about everything that has happened in a day and so much easier to upload the pictures that represent the majority of it.
