So Close
I got up and hiked out before DB did and i was in front of him for a good bit and boy had the weather changed like it knew this was my last full day on trail. IT WAS FREAKING PERFECT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE PCT. The skies were blue but the sun wasn't scorching and you could see for miles and it was everything I could have asked for in a last day. I talked to some German guys who we have been leapfrogging for the last couple days and it turned out that they were from Kassel which is where I went with my high school german class!
It was crazy to be able to see Canada when just a few months ago (almost 5 months on trail) I had been peering over a fence at Mexico. Additionally, we had a front and center view of the forest fires that were burning in BC. Luckily the wind was blowing the smoke away from us for the moment. We did pass a couple trails that were closed due to them though. It would be awful if the PCT closed so close the end!
We stopped at the last campsite before the Northern terminus. Even though there was only 3 miles left and I could have made it easily that night I wanted to get there in the light of day for #picsoritdidnthappen
