Island and Donahue Pass
We made it over two passes today! Both were covered in snow like all the others but Island Pass I hardly even noticed and Donahue just felt like it went on forever even though it was just a gradual slope up to the top. Speaking of the top, I HAD SERVICE!! I got to talk to A for a bit but then we had to continue and get to camp before it got too dark.
The decent into the valley where we camped was pretty uneventful. I was even in front of AH for a little. Shocker. We met a hiker named Death Wish while she was getting water for her group who were taking a zero day at the base of Donahue because one of their members fell a bit on their way down. Ouch. Just hearing about them staying out for any more time than absolutely necessary made my heart skip a beat though. I know if I were in a similar situation I would probably have done the same thing.
We camped out of the snow. Literally all it takes to make me happy at this point.
While we were setting up camp AH made a slightly bigger deal of properly stowing our bear canisters since we were now officially in Yosemite National Park. So like the good girl I am I walked my food far away. In the process of doing that though I stabbed a hole through my rain fly with my trekking poles... meh nothing a little tape can't fix. Luckily it was a clean cut.
