Raham Etek to Timna Park
We left camp at about 630 am trying to get some hiking done before it got too hot. It was supposed to be 100 degrees Fahrenheit. We walked by a landfill site and it smelled for a mile in both directions. It made me sad and not want to create waste ever again or at least minimize it or at least try harder to do so.
Then we walked downhill and on a flat sand road (difficult to step) and got to Timna Resort. We had to wait for the kitchen to get ready for lunch (we all got popsicles in the meantime) before we could eat hummus plates, one each, and share a basket of fries. There was an artificial pond with a fountain and palm trees, and it looked to be the palm springs of Israel according to A.
I feel really ill today and my head just feels cloudy. No matter how much I drink I still feel on the verge of dehydration and possibly heat exhaustion. Hopefully this will go away soon because I don't know if I can continue like this much longer.
After staying indoors for most of the day we hiked up a freakishly steep mountain just to see the view and then come down the other side (Not even the other side just right next to the way we came up) but it was worth it. The trail took us through a specified "geological trail," which was rich with informational signs that describes to us the "lawn rock" and more. We came to the other side of the park and stopped at the visitors center to refill our water before heading to camp. We got to the camp in the dark again and Sean had gotten there before us and camped with another group a bit away from us. A and I set up our tent on a semi flat piece of ground. I got in and was probably asleep latest at 7. I even cuddled with my water bottles to cool me down I felt like I was going to boil from inside. It was really windy throughout the night and confirmed my dislike for A's tent.
